Abraskidabra Freestyle Academy Officially Launched

So far this holiday period in Tignes has been blessed by lots of snow, warmer temperatures, a spot of drizzle, wetter snow, and thank goodness… some more snow. In fact I can’t remember the last time I saw the sun. Whatever precipitation has fallen, the piste conditions have been great, and despite the busy holiday period I’ve managed to sample some decent powder this week too.

I thought I’d leave you with this youtube clip of Theo and Gabriel. These two lads skied with me on my lunchtime slot throughout Christmas week. Though we spent most of the week bouncing around in waist-deep powder, the last half-hour on Friday was dedicated to filming jumps.

Holiday Brochure Skiing Here In Tignes

I was beaming like a Cheshire cat when I hit ‘Campanules’ for the third time today. With the quick turn around on the Tufs lift in Val Claret, access to thigh-deep powder on this Tignes itinerary route couldn’t have been easier.

My clients Kyle, Wilfie and Gail agreed that this morning in Tignes was like those glossy ‘Ski Holiday In Canada’ brochures*; light and fluffy, seemingly endlessly deep and perfect visibility. It was pretty exciting to say the least. It made me want to take pictures or ask anyone if they had one of those O2 Mobile Phones with a good camera. You kind of have to see it to believe it was really like that. I must have been a good boy this year as Santa has come early!
* In the two seasons I worked as an instructor in British Columbia, I didn’t see many days like this, it’s all camera trickery.
