I couldn’t be having a better week at work.
A ski school allocated visit to Tignes Val Claret’s Club Med usually means a chilled out week with belt-busting long lunches (courtesy of their top restaurant), and so far I haven’t been disappointed, though the greatest blessing is the snow that my eager teen-aged group and I have had the pleasure of skiing every day.
Heavy snowfall on Sunday night dropped quadricep-burning knee-deep powder all over Tignes, much to the delight of my Russian Comrades who are holidaying on this Eastern Orthodox Christmas week.
Cold temperatures have been preserving the snow, and the last remaining patches of fresh are still as good, now two days later.
Complaints of poor visibility have been commonplace over the past fortnight, so the moaning-masses had to scratch their heads for new excuses, when yesterday morning the skies cleared to present the best day of the season so far.
Today was another belter, though a bit on the chilly side, with more heavy snow forecast to fall before the weekend, it looks like a good time to pick up a last minute holiday bargain.
